Fall 2020 Update
The Department of Music will offer face-to-face, asynchronous online, and synchronous
live-streaming remote courses during Fall 2020. We are also undertaking a thorough
process of developing cleaning, social distancing, and aerosol mitigation practices
in all of our studios, classrooms, labs, and performance spaces.
Some changes to course delivery were made in late June, please check your fall schedule
for course delivery updates. Courses are designated as one of three modalities:
- Face-to-face: These courses will be delivered on campus. Stringent cleaning and social distancing
requirements will be in place, including mandatory mask wearing (with some performance
exceptions). Your health, as well as ours, is of paramount concern.
- Online: These courses will be delivered completely online through Canvas; they will not meet
on a specific day or time.
- Live Stream: These courses are delivered online during live sessions on specific days and times. Students
may be asked to attend the live class on certain days.
Our goal is to maintain excellence in teaching while providing you with the tools
you need to continue on your pathway toward graduation.
If you have questions about course registration, program navigation, or graduation
plans, please contact the music advisor, Clark Slater. You may also contact Chris Gines in our front office, your Area Coordinator, or
myself. If you have questions about specific courses, please contact the professor.
For additional resources and the latest university updates, please keep up-to-date

We look forward to seeing you this fall, in person and virtually. Have a safe and
